Privacy policy

• Account details: your name and email address, and your Google profile name if you sign in with Google.
• Study profile: your exam date, NCLC levels and targets, daily study time and time zone.
• Learning data: your answers and scores, the texts you write, your speaking recordings and their transcripts, AI evaluations, Error Notebook entries, flashcard progress and AI tutor conversations.
• Payments: whether you hold the pass and Stripe’s reference for the payment. Stripe handles your card; we never see or store card numbers.
• Technical data: server logs and error records (without the content of your work), and basic page analytics from our hosting provider.

• To run the service: your study plan, practice, feedback and progress tracking.
• To evaluate your writing and speaking with AI and show you the result.
• To send a welcome email when you create an account, and to answer you when you write to us.
• To keep the service secure, enforce daily limits and fix errors.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

• Clerk: sign-in and account security.
• Stripe: payments.
• Groq: AI evaluation of your writing and speaking, transcription of your recordings, and the AI tutor. Only the content needed for each request is sent.
• Google Cloud: the examiner’s voice (text-to-speech). It receives examiner text, not your answers.
• Resend: sending email.
• Replit: hosting, database and page analytics.

These providers may process data in the United States and other countries, under their own security and privacy commitments.

We keep your account and learning data until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile, learning data and voice recordings straight away. Records of payments are kept as tax and accounting law requires. Error records are kept for 30 days.

• Delete your account at any time: Settings → Profile & targets → Delete account.
• Correct your profile in Settings, or ask us to correct anything else.
• Get a copy of your data, or ask any privacy question, by writing to hello@tefmaster.com. We answer within 30 days.
• If you are in Canada, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or in Quebec the Commission d’accès à l’information.

We use the cookies Clerk needs to keep you signed in, and your browser’s storage to keep drafts and answers safe if your connection drops. We do not use advertising cookies.

TEF Master is meant for adults preparing for the TEF Canada exam. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email.
